Bottle picked up from the Mittenwalder Getrankemarkt in Krun, nr Mittenwald and consumed at home sat on the balcony eating Smash Burgers with Salad and Potatoes that Loz and Jude made. Actually now sat by Brazier outside looking at a fantastic starry sky, lots of satellites passing overhead including Starlink, Wednesday 4th September 2024. Pours dark brown in colour with a slim/mid sized head of off white foam..The nose is a little nutty and there is dried fruits on the nose along with a touch of chocolate and malt. Similar in the mouth with more of a fruity tang, descent but I really like Mittenwaldee brewery and was hoping to be wowed a bit more by this.

Tap, Gasthof Griess Mittenwald. Dark amber color, with a slight haziness. Malt, toffee and cherry juice in the aroma. Sweet flavor with toffee, butter abd cherry sweets. Hint of diacetyl. A light hopbitterness comes up in the aftertaste Earlier Rating: 8/10/2006 Total Score: 3.5 Gasthof Gröbl Alm Mittenwald. Bottle. Malty flavor with some roast. Liquid bread, says the label, and it has a point. Bready. Long hopbitter aftertaste. Pure chocolate hides the alcohol of this powerful beer. Sadly (or not) the mountain air on the patio hides the aroma of this beer somewhat.

Bottle. Clear deep brown color with amber highlight. Aroma is black breadcrust, light prunes, chocolate, molasses, Andechs style. Taste is black bread, chocolate, light prunes, burnt brown sugar, very full-bodied. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Great Dark Bock!

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for this bottle! Fresh smooth beginning. Malty with not too much sweetness. Hints of bitterness in the aftertaste. Not too deep or too characteristic. Nice malty mainstream-bock. Round, drinkable, ok.

Aroma has nuts, berries and some woody notes. Flavour has berries, some nuts, wood and some fusel‐like alcohol. Finishes with more alcohol and grass.

500ml bottle. Clear dark amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma, a touch of hazelnut, slightly grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet caramel malty with a nuttily touch, dry hoppy and minimally spicy overtones. Good.
