Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night...
Scatter Signal is an ode to progress, however hampered. To unseen development that is quiet and steady. To unshakable perseverance, even as the ground trembles.
Scatter Signal was forged from the liquid that made Bottle Logic what it is -- our World Beer Cup-clad Darkstar November, here now built and brawned to withstand war. Coffee for vigor, chocolate to fortify, marshmallows for resilience.
This 14.8% ABV Imperial Mocha-Marshmallow Stout is a blend of liquid aged from 12 to 24 months in a medley of our favorite bourbon barrels. It was conditioned on the 'Southern Weather' and 'Monarch' blends of coffee beans roasted by our brothers in arms at Onyx Coffee Lab for a complex foundation of chocolate brownie and burnt sugar undertones.
Cacao nibs bolster the chocolate front -- Ecuadorian nibs were chosen specifically for the nutty, hot-chocolate-like flavors they impart. Marshmallows were our finishing touch; added in abundance for their softly sweet aroma, for a bounce of viscosity, and amidst a very hard year, for the outright joy of it. In the absence of joy, there is nothing worth fighting for.
...and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.

Bottle shared thanks to Alexander. Very dark brown. Very sweet, apple syrup, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, soft coffee, chocolate cake, sweet maple chocolate sauce. Very sweet, light bitter and very light sour. Full bodied. Needs to be shared but quite tasty.

Oddly got more marshmallow than 2022 upfront but at room temp it's gone again. Nice coffee and chocolate balance at that point though.

Not much marshmallow left, nice chocolate with hints of coffee though, hints of barrel on the mid and finish.

500ml bottle. Jet black clour with minimally late awakening, small to average, frothy to creamy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, brown head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, biscuity, mildly roasty, dark malty and caramel malty aroma with subtle BA support, notes of chocolate, chocolate cookies, dark chocolate, caramel, some vanilla, dry cocoa, marshmallow, mocha, Bourbon. Taste is sweet-ish, biscuity, chocolately, mildly roasty, dark malty and caramel malty, notes of chocolate cookies, chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, some mocha, treacle, marshmallow, BA support with additional caramel and vanilla aspects, a touch of cinnamon; very weak fruity aspects of plum and plum wine in the otherwise well hidden alcohol. Viscous texture, smooth and super soft, silky, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft, creamy carbonation. Complex in a very harmonious and homogenous mode, more full of subtleties rather than a lumpen bigwig; a tad too much marshmallow influence while warming up - excellent.
