Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night...
Scatter Signal is an ode to progress, however hampered. To unseen development that is quiet and steady. To unshakable perseverance, even as the ground trembles.
Scatter Signal was forged from the liquid that made Bottle Logic what it is -- our World Beer Cup-clad Darkstar November, here now built and brawned to withstand war. Coffee for vigor, chocolate to fortify, marshmallows for resilience.
This 14.8% ABV Imperial Mocha-Marshmallow Stout is a blend of liquid aged from 12 to 24 months in a medley of our favorite bourbon barrels. It was conditioned on the 'Southern Weather' and 'Monarch' blends of coffee beans roasted by our brothers in arms at Onyx Coffee Lab for a complex foundation of chocolate brownie and burnt sugar undertones.
Cacao nibs bolster the chocolate front -- Ecuadorian nibs were chosen specifically for the nutty, hot-chocolate-like flavors they impart. Marshmallows were our finishing touch; added in abundance for their softly sweet aroma, for a bounce of viscosity, and amidst a very hard year, for the outright joy of it. In the absence of joy, there is nothing worth fighting for.
...and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.

On tap at MBCC 2023, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out rich marshmallow, bourbon, and light cocoa. Flavour is rich, with intense bourbon barrels, cocoa and a touch of marshmallow. Boozy, bourbony finish. Very good albeit a touch hot.

Tap. Darkest brown color with beige head. Aroma is coffee ground, very aromatic, cocoa, fresh. Taste is coffee, caramel, some oats maybe. Chewy mouthfeel, fine-bubbled carbonation. Good one!

Thickish body, a bit sweet, boozy. Light roast coffee, peppery rye whisky, chocolate. Less smooth than the '20, good not great.

50cl bottle pours with a dark milk chocolate colored body that supported really no head at all. The aroma offers up rich smelling malty, oily coffee to marshmallow leading to murmurs of smooth barrel character. The taste is full robust richness and a rare moment when more than an ounce or two of this is too much. Wow. This delivers thick and slick deep rich sweetness coming from malts and adjuncts and the flowing into smooth supple bourbon barrel like notes. Beneath all of that are thin swirls of fully sweetened dark roasted coffee. So rich.
