This beer is a nod to the tradition of brewing strong beers in the winter and releasing them in spring. Brewed with Pilsner malt and Mandarina Bavaria hops (Single Malt And Single Hop - SMASH). A true celebration of spring.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Aug 23. Thanks Mark for this! Pours a hazy gold with good white head. 11 weeks lagering in tank apparently and, to be fair, it is pretty flavoursome with a developed malt sweetness and rounded with a good hop bitterness. Excellent maibock.

Spandert av Rune. Delt med ham i WCveien. Gylden. Nesten klar. Høyt kremaktig skum. Daler sakte & etterlater pene kniplinger. Aroma av gress & vanilje. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken karamell & mais. Syrlig, tørr bitter avslutning.

330ml bottle, gyle 659, bought at Offie in Leicester and carried back home. Shared with Finn. Stable white head over a misty golden body, lacing rings down the glass. Inviting smell of herbal hops and caramel malts. Fine blended taste of caramel and cereal malts, added by herbal hops. Smooth, mid-sweet earthy malt to the ending. Fine depth to it. Likeable. (Tromsø 14.08.2022).

Bottle from the Beer Garage. Appearance - cloudy yellow to orange with a neat snow white head. Nose - dried orange, malt loaf and a general feel of muesli. Taste - light hazelnut and dried orange with the predominant flavour being cereal/bread. Palate - light to medium bodied, fairly rich in the middle with gentle, hop and malt bitterness. Overall - like this.

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Light haze on a pale amber colour. Beautifully appointed messy white foam. Oh wow, the aroma here. Sticky grain. Sweaty yeast. Pineapple skin, bizarrely. Taste is sticky sweet, with a yeasty, grassy, oily herb bitterness. Super smooth mouthfeel with fine carbonation. Bitterness on the finish ramps up. Imagine drinking pints of this and ending up happily poorly.
