Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, dark bread, sweet cherries with a touch of tart to them, slight vanilla then an underscore of earthiness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty quality; finishes sweet through the cherries and chocolate
Texture: medium bodied, this is a sipper; some smoothness with also a little bit of tart sticky hint from the cherries
Overall: very nicely done pastry stout well worth coming back to.

(Bottle) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of black coffee, black bread, tobacco, cherries in brandy, dark chocolate and vanilla. Malty, roasted, vinous, sweet taste with dark bread, strong black coffee, tobacco, cherries in brandy, dark chocolate, hazelnuts, vanilla and a sweet and vinous finish with a mild bitterness. Almost full body, really sweet. Hardly balanced. Vinous and boozy, but rich and tasty. Nice one.

Bottled@Littlepub, Vaasa. Black colour, small beigeish brown head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is cherries, vanilla, wood, some alcohol, liquorice and mild tobacco notes with some dried fruits too. Flavour is quite complex, cherries, wood, vanilla, liquorice, some alcohol, dried fruits, mild toasted and tobaccoish notes.

Bottle, best before Nov 27, 2021, drunk 9/23/22. Seems fairly clear. Dark garnet-tinged, dark mahogany with a small, cherry-tinged, tan head that shows low retention. Light oxidation with ashy roast and bright, acidic cherry juice and a hint of cocoa. No sweetness or alcohol and I don't get any vanilla. Too oxidized, sadly. Soy mixing with sweet malt (caramel, fudge, chocolate) and moderate cherry-vanilla. A bit loose and very low carbonation. No alcohol or overdone adjunct. I'd expect a 12.5% stout could have lasted longer without so much overt oxidation. Actually, after extended warming/breathing, the oxidation seems to fade. I think it's probably just the other notes becoming more forward, since oxidation doesnt fade with breathing. But it gets a lot more balanced and soft, though there's still a mix of bitter vanilla and ashen roast on the finish that I dont love.

11.2 oz. bottle shared by tfontana. Aroma is earthy and dirty. Like old wood. Flavor is slightly better. Mild cherry, mild chocolate, with a hint of vanilla under the earth. Decent body and texture. Good.

Bottle (11/21/21) pour from Liquor Junction, Woburn. It's an opaque black with ring of khaki head and trace lacing. Aroma is strong earthy malt (bordering on oaky) without cherry, chocolate or vanilla. Taste is strong earthy malt, as aroma, with mild cherry and chocolate but not getting vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, fairly thin texture, mild alcohol warmth, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, was expecting good strength and complexity but not getting much of the adjuncts at all! Not a bad beer but disappointing vs. expectations and usual experience from this brewer.

Bottle. A- Cherry, chocolate, subtle cream. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Cherry, chocolate cordial, cola, mildly roasty, subtle tang. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly cloying finish. O- Not bad. Loads of chocolate covered cherry cordial candies. (That's a lot of C's in a row). Solid beer but not my favorite Pohjala. A somewhat present tanginess on the finish.

Keg at Captain Cook, Östersund. Aroma is a real vodka hit. Good looking and overwhelming in cherry taste. Didn't get that much vanilla.
