A honest and good porter, not really smocked, rather mineral, roasted malt, side of coffee, dark chocolate, hop, smooth and dry, 30.09.19, purchased in one beer store Bologna.

Bottle. It is my opinion that this is one of the best brewery’s around. Never been disappointed by one of there beers. Brown in color, small, light tan head. Aroma and taste is a light plesant smoky one.

12 oz. bottle. Shared by tfontana, thanks Tom. Aroma is mild smoke, light roasted malt. Flavor is a direct reflection. Subtle and not over done. I smoked malt brew that I don’t hate. A major accomplishment!

Can pour from Total Wine & More, Brentwood. Appearance is very dark brown (almost opaque black) with no discernible sparkle, ring of beige head and trace lacing. Aroma is strong smoke overriding roasted malts. Taste is strong smoky roasted malts. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with frothy texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, the smoke is not overdone, but it is the star of the show.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, presumably hazy, quickly collapsing loose tanned head, moderate sweet dark-malty nose with mild, but distinctive traces of wood-fire and a mild bitterness underneath; mild to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, pretty light bodied for a beer of 6.0%, but at least soft; mildly lingering bitter-sweet finish with toasty-roasty traces and hardly detectable smoky spots. Not really convincing....
