Botlle . Light brown colour with a beige head.Aroma is malt and ginger. There is also other spices in the aroma. Flavour is malt , caramel, alcohol and ginger. Ginger and bitter finish.

First rating.Bottle on January 7, 2006.Dark color, not much at all in scent and flavor, just a boring beer that should not be called a Christmas beer per my definition. Had they called it another type of beer I might have rated it higher, but as a Christmas beer it’s just plain boring and not worth buying.4/3/4/3/6=2.0Second rating.(50 cl bottle from Swedish Systembolaget)updated 11/19/2006Weak malty scent, some German malts. A deep red beer with a nice brown head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of berries and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and light notes of berries, leading to a dry end. The body is thin inspite of the 5.8% ABV.

Bottled. Ruby/amber coloured (kind of inbetween), small beige head. Weak caramellish malts in aroma. Flavour is roasted sweet malts with dark chocolateish hints. Roast, malts and hops in aftertaste. Reminds of Spendrups julbrygd.

Ruby red, small creamy tan head. Roasted, a bit papery and metallic, malty aroma. Chocolaty malty flavor, slightly bitterish aftertaste. Propably the best Mariestad-brew so far.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark, almost black with a reddish hue and a handsome, tall head. Full-bodied and dry with a malty, lightly burned touch. This almost resembles a dry, Scotch Ale. Heck, they make nice Christmas beers in Sweden. 210302

Bottled. Nut brown. Dry and grassy with some caramel. Thin, hard mouthfeel. medium bitterness in a metallic finish. Mediocre.

Bottle:
Pours dark brown with a dense head. Sweet and malty toffee aroma, some chocolate as well. Sweet and malty flavour with notes of toffee and salty liquorice.
