An odd earthlike flavor with some bitterness and a watery aftertaste. Color is amber with a white head.

Appearance: Clear amber color with a fine off white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, malty and mild hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Fruity and fresh hoppy. Fine malty back.
Overall impression: Fresh and very tasty. One of the best I have got from Cains on tap.

Golden, clear, pillowy white head, good lacing
Aroma of soft sweet caramel malts
Taste - Caramel malts, light bitter hops, touch of soft fruits, not a lot going on here for 5%, easy drinking though, nice soft mellow toffee caramel malt
Palate - Medium body, sweetish malt palate. Finish - fairly bitter, cleans off palate quite well
Overall - Solid, workmanlike, drinkable, easy going, fairly bland for a 5% beer, but it was still quite nice

Canโt believe Iโve never reviewed this before: 500ml bottle best before the end of July 2012, poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard two weeks before that date. The deep golden body had a slight hazy look but the perfectly formed head and aroma compensated for it completely. Malts all the way here with hops always trying to break even both in the smell and taste: this ensures the beer is semi-sweet and has a mini bitterness at all times as well. The 5.0% ABV suits it nicely and it sits well as the beer sinks down my tankard leaving some thick lacing after each gulp.

Bottle, 5%. Slightly hazy deep golden/amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, hops, little fruit and a little caramel. Flavour is malt, hops, medium bitter, little sweet, high carbonation, fruit and a little grainy.
