Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, dried fruits, bit nutty with some almond, hint of toffee. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium, slightly sticky texture. Alcoholic touch in the finish. Fine English-style Barley Wine, hoped for a bit more hop nuance, there being 10 varieties of hop in this.

Mildly hazy amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate starts smooth and has a very mild viscosity. Decent fine minerally carbonation on the back. Smooth malts, caramel and cream, quite sweet. Estery fruity kid with some ripe fruits on the back end. A little spice in the fairly light finish. Not too bad, decent amount of smooth malt here and a nice fruity back end, I'm just not that fond of esters in a barleywine.

Light brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have sweet notes of raisins, caramel and cake.

30cl Fles van Maallust. Donker amber kleur, vuilwitte kraag. Ruikt vol, zoet, krenten, rozijnen, bruine suiker, moutig, vanille, smaak is wat minder vol, rozijnen, marmalade, moutig, donker fruit, bittere finish. Medium body. Het bier had wat voller gemogen maar is verder prima.

Nydelig barleywine. Lett syrlig. Nokså fyldig. Føles syndig (!) og har masse modnings og aldringspreg. Jeg liker den!
