Maallust is jubilaris.

75 cl. bottle shared with Rick @ Rick, bought @ Kulenborgse Bierhandel.
Dark amber with a white head. Malty caramel aroma. Sweet taste with a strong bitter finish. A bit too raw and unbalanced to be truly enjoyable.

Dark brown with some head. Sweet roasted barley malts, palm sugar, dates, old leaves, rye bread. Sweet and oily, full bodied, finishing in a pleasant spot between sweet and bitter. Good mouthfeel, clean brew. A bit imperial bock-ish, quite tasty.

Pours a clear reddish brown colour and a stiff beige head with a thin layer retention. Aroma's: light sweet, a bit nutty and vegetal. Retronasal it's sweetish, fruity. Flavour is light moderate sweet with light moderate bitterness. Medium bodied. Moderate bitter finish. Pretty decent, not too sweet.

Bottle. Color: Red copper, very thin off-white head Aroma: Malty, subtle caramel and red and dark fruit notes. Taste: Malty, lightly boozy, subtle notes of caramel, raisins, hints of dark dried fruit and red fruit, almond and citrus zest. Moderate to over moderate sweet, light to moderate bitterness. A little more bitterness at finish. Dry mouthfeel, a little astringent, especially at finish. Just over medium body, just under average carbonation. Well balanced, nice complexity. Overall the flavours are quite subtle, compared to a lot of other Barleywines, making this not the most outspoken Barleywine but certainly a proof of the brewer's professional competence, in my opinion. Very nice.
