A beer of golden colour and distinct malt taste. It matures for at least 200 days in our lager cellars.

bottle. Clear golden yellow, enormous head, not only in the glass but all over my table. Bitter-sweet, full-bodied, with alcohoic flavours. Aromatically hoppy with a sticky sweetness at the same time.

Hmm... this is sold as one of the premium beers in the Czech place, but probably the normal Budvar is a better beer. High on the alcohol and it cuts down a little on the taste that the lower alcohol one had. This is less subtle, but still has a nice color and taste and is certainly very drinkable. Go for it.

Medium white coarse head quickly shrinks. Bronze body. Aroma of rubber, with touches of alcohol and hops. Sweetish malty taste with milky background in which I think I can make out some alcohol. Watery and faintly hoppy aftertaste. Unpleasant watery caramel in the aftertaste. I don’t think I need any more of this one. Maybe if they’d used a 600-meter deep well, and been brewing for 1400 years, this would have been better. (0.33l bottle.)

33cl bottle. Deep gold, thin white head. My last beer in Prague. Surprisingly hoppy, bit of heat from the alcohol, bit creamy in mouth. Bit syrupy like some European strong lagers can be. Finish has more hops and touch of sugar sweetness. Hops make this quite drinkable. 2.6/5 Re-rate, bottle at St Albans 2007. Clear gold, lasting white head. Slight bock-y aroma from alcohol. Crisp. Very good hop on end. No burn, good viscousity. Silky mouthfeel. Excellent strong strong beer.

Bottle: Pale golden colour, thin, quickly diminishing white foam; small malty nose (cookies) with some alcoholic and bitter notes; sweet beginning, sweet flavour, nearly no aftertaste, only a tinge of bitterness; disappointing simple !

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Bud - super strong" at 7,2% ABV. Golden without much head. Compared to the "real" Budweiser this is less refined, some of the more subtle touches - e.g. the fruity maltiness - disappear in the strong alcohol burn. And the alcohol is very evident. But not really bad for a strong lager.

Bottle. Complex aroma - lemon, hay, sour malt. Dark yellow without much head. Suprising light flavor for the alcohol content - sweetness upfront, slight citrus flavor with a moderate hops finish - the finish is also when I really noticed the higher alcohol content.

An orange beer with no head. The aroma has dominating notes of alcohol, but also plums. The flavor is very simple with clear nots of alcohol and a good palate.

Bottle. Nice lasting head. Aroma of alcohol. Flavour is interestingly spicy and peppery with a bit of sweetness to balance it. Not much bitterness nor aftertaste.
