Our Dunkelweizen was designed to emphasise the unique characteristics of this style without the extra carbonation that can make it difficult to serve. We use a lot of wheat malt: over 75% which makes for a long brew-day since wheat malt has no husk to aid the lautering process. Munich and a little smoked malt add richness. We use a small amount of hops to not overwhelm the other unique flavours.

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - cloudy orange. Proportionate off-white head. Nose - banana, toffee and clove. Taste - more banoffee, in fact getting into the sweeter edges of toffee this time. Palate - creamy in texture, medium bodied and a sweet finish. Overall - nice.
