Our newest West Coast IPA to come off the line is Santako. We've based this on one of our recent WCIPA's, Plasticity, but have replaced the Cascade portion of the dry hop with Amarillo to push the orangey citrus character further. Combined with Citra, Simcoe and Columbus the aroma immediately presents plenty of dank pine resin, marijuana, orange and grapefruit zest and some slight peachiness. The initial taste follows with more citrus and a little kiss of sweetness before finishing with a dry and firm bitterness that does't overstep the mark. The body is on the leaner, drier side yet with the little addition of a very light caramel malt, a slight sweet touch blends with the bitter finish to give some of that sticky, oily, resinous character that we love in West Coast IPA. This is a west coast IPA designed with drinkibility in mind and what's more it's even celiac-friendly.

Good West coaster. Pleasantly bitter. The terrace is quiet and empty due to there being trivia tonight.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a hazy, edging cloudy golden yellow with medium sized foamy almost white head, good lacing and high carbonation. There’s oranges, grapefruit and pine in the aroma. In the mouth it starts as a trial of strength between sweet and bitter, but this is easily won by bitterness which becomes quite strong with a creamy resinous texture. Flavour has floral hops, tropical fruit and oranges with hints of spice and yeast later on. Finish is decidedly bitter and dry. This is decent, plenty of bite but hides its strength well.

Buena.

From Stumpf Getränkmarkt, Ingelheim am Rhein, opening this small can, yesterday for the dinner, so hot and it was a perfect west coast ipa, full body, well balanced, malty, a bit sweet, resinous, aromatic and floral bitterness, a west coast ipa in the rule of the art.

Can 33 cl. Pours a hazy, pale yellow with a small, white head. Rather dank, citrusy nose. Medium body, dry frui and citrus. Yeasty and minerally with a very dry finish leaving some bitterness. 090525
