Tasting at Erik’s
Pitch black colour, oily, no head. Aroma of roasted malts, molasses, Marmite, bit of glue, strong phenol. Thick mouthfeel, the malt is not very rich, too much on the caramel side, and very strong alcohol burn, some vanilla.
Powerful beer, but also one of the least elegant beers out there, it's to beer what chili competition is to fine dining.

Dark brown, with a thick head. On the nose, lots of rich chocolate, assertive rum barrel. There's also a nice rum note, rich chocolate. Decadent. Moderate, balanced bitterness, and a bit of booze in the finish. Rich, rich malts, and I like the rum barrel finish on this. Gorgeous.

650ml bottle at Erik's. Pours a very dakr brown with a brown head. Aroma is rum barrel, some fudge and molasses. Taste is very sweet with barrel, chocolate, dark fruits, and molasses notes. Nice.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with rum barrels, some wood, molasses and a little caramel. Flavour is intensely rich, with lots of molasses, treacle toffee, caramel, and rum barrels. Treacly, viscous, syrupy palate. Intense stuff. Lovely.

Bottle shared at Andrew's B-day bash. Pours deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that dissipates. Big rum forward nose with cacao nib, vanilla and faint coconut as it warms. Smooth and decadent, but boozy on the palate. The rum overpowers and kind of hides the beer underneath on the finish. Still solid, but not my favorite variant from Cycle.
