BOOM! IBU:89 is an American style Double IPA with a light but balanced malt body giving the hops the chance to do the talking. Lots of citrus, stone fruit and pine notes. With a long lingering bitter finish. Here comes the boom.

On tap at Saraveza for the 7th IIPA Fest, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is very malty and sweet, with lots of resinous hops, followed by tons of caramel and cardboardy bready notes. Flavour tastes old, with lots of cardboardy bready malt and subdued resinous hops. Seems like this is an older keg. It's decent but not optimal. Rating reflects enjoyment, as it wasn't my fault I got an old keg pour.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Offie and Toffee. Pours light,y hazy orange with a frothy topping. The nose has crackers malts, faded pine, ripe citrus, a little marmalade. Medium sweet flavor with strong bready and crackers malts, stewed citrus fruits, piney bitterness, berries, a little grass. Medium to full bodied, with fine to average carbonation. Finishes lightly resinous, subtly warming, with more lightly aged pine, citrus, melon, tangerine, oily pine. This one feels a bit faded overall, although there are still some juicy elements here.

330ml bottle. Moderately cloudy, orangey golden colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney, resinous & citrusy hoppy and caramel malty aroma, notes of pineapple, passionfruit, hints of lime and lemon, sweaty resinous groundwork. Taste is crisp citrusy and bitter hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon drops, some lime, caramel malty backbone keeps the threateningly lurking hop bitterness at bay, thereby delivering almond-like malty interludes, but basically providing a basis for the display of fresh lemon flavours of all shades. Okay! The hops do the talking - but finally this is an hoppy ’Boom!" with a staggering malty echo.

Small sample from bottle at ASKO-messe. Served a bit too warm. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of American hops and crystal malts. Sweet flavour with a massive resinous and grapefruity hop bitterness.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy orangey amber with a respectable cream head. Aroma is orange resin. Taste is indeed extremely hoppy with a decent orange fruitiness above all that resin. There’s a good bitter pine edge to give it focus too. Decent DIPA.
