Can. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is chocolate, some toasted malts, vanilla and some slight nutty tones. Flavour is coffee, vanilla, some mild nutty tones with a bit wooden tones as well as some floral elements. Nice coffeeish aftertaste.

One pint can at home courtesy of Saeglopur, big thanks. No obvious BB date. black color, rather big coffee colored head. smells parfumy, vanilla, marzipan, spices, some coffee, ok smell, smells rather gimicky. full body, rather bubbly carbonation. tastes of vanilla, coffee, parfumy, sweet spices, nutty, hazelnuts, marshmellows, bit sticky. finishes sweet with notes of vanilla, coffee and some sticky sweet spices. way too pastry for me.

0,375 l bottle. ABV is 8%. Pours dark brown with huge, lasting, frothy tan head. Plenty of yeast floating around. Aroma of coffee, molasses, vanilla, some chocolate, sweet aroma. Taste is bitter sweet, followed by a bitter aftertaste, like a very mild espresso without sugar.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/12/2019. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, vanilla, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, vanilla, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, vanilla, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, peppery, roast, charred, coffee bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, vanilla, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with an awesome hop/char bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 10.1% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic flavored imperial brown ale. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, coffee, vanilla, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish. Awesome soft feel for the ABV. Fantastic balance of super rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee, and vanilla flavors; with mild earthy hops, and fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering and spot on base style example as expected. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

(473ml can from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours very deep brown to black with a thick foamy tan head and heavy lace. Notes of quite toasty and nutty dark malts, lots of brewed coffee, earth, cacao, some dark sugar sweetness and moderate vanilla for balance but the overall feel is only lightly sweet and rather bitter with quite a dry finish, lots of that toasty, nutty brown ale vibe in the finish. Medium bodied with pretty soft carbonation, maybe a little thin for ABV. At times it edges into stout territory but there's a quality that definitely makes it feel more brown ale too. Quite decent post-dinner brew.
