You hold an enlightened throwback ale brewed in the Kölsch tradition of yesteryear. Beautiful floral Spalt Hops were chosen in the field by Brewmaster Dan Carey. Crisp bitterness dries quickly into a clean finish. Double decoction mashing of specifically blended German and Czech barley and wheat malts naturally create a golden bready center. Old world open top fermentation imparts lilting fruit notes to softly round out this 100% naturally carbonated live ale with a friendly bounce. Prost!

Accidentally opened when I went to the fridge for food, saw none, and grabbed a beer instead. Bottle courtesy of Drake! Light gold, slightest hint of haze, white head. Dried floral hops, grasses, leaf, and bready aroma. Smooth green and brown leaf, grasses, light cracker. Hint of sweetness in there.

The Aromas are pale malt with a bit-o-honey. Flavors are similar to nose with an alternating sweet/tart thing going on accentuated by strong carbonation. A hint of solvent in the finish with good body. Good enough beer.

12oz bottle. It feels like it has been a good five years since NG has dropped a new non-premium priced beer, nice to see this hit the shelves. Medium bodied, delicate body, clean. Blows away most American Kolsch, and could stand up to most true examples as well. Perhaps not as zestily hopped? Some light almost corn notes, a touch reminiscent of Spotted Cow at times, but certainly better. Excellent beer.

12 ounce bottle from Woodman's Appleton, 8/11/19. Hazy orange, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of floral, leafy hops and doughy malt. Taste is pale malt, white bready, citrusy hops. Medium bodied, crisp, well balanced, high carb, moderate bitterness. Nice kolsch. I get to be the first rater of a New Glarus beer? Cool!
