Draught @ Wieden Brau, Vienna, Austria. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, grain, sourness, hay. Flavor is light sweet, grainy, light sour, hay. Medium body, soft carbonation. Proberly not that fresh. 140816

0,2l on tap at the brewpub as "Wieden Bräu Helles 11.3° Stammwürze". dark yellow cloudy color, small white head. smells of bread, light flour, some grains, grass. light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of bread, citric, lightly fruity, light plums, tobaccoa bit grassy. finishes lightly bitter with citric and grassy notes also some bread. nice one, smell was ok, not too special, taste is quite nice, good mouthfeel with nice bread notes and some hops. good representation, overall not too special

On Tap at the brewbub. Klare goldene Farbe, mittelgroße weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch mild hopfig, getreidig, gering süß. Geschmack getreidig malzig, leicht süß, schwach hopfig im Abgang.

On tap at Wiedenbräu. Hazy yellow colour, good white head. Yeasty, light hopped and malted. Aroma is well balanced with light malts and more bitterness. It´s very fresh and easy drinking

bottle, purchased at the brewery. Hazy golden yellow, mid-sized white head. MMMedium-bodied, nice malty base with hints of honey. Lots of aromatic hops, grassy and resiny with a citrusy touch. Very nice.

Tap at the brewpub. Aroma yeasty, light hops, somewhat stale. Clear yellow colour, stable white head. Taste is quite balanced, though the hops comes through as a bit stale. Otherwise not unpleasant. More on the bitter side, though little in ways of hops flavour. Light honeyish maltiness. Quite highly carbonated, also served quite cold. Decent lager beer, though a bit unoriginal, straight-forward.

Bottle in my Vienna hotel room. Almost clear pale gold beer, good white head. Palate is light, crisp and dry. Minerals. Fresh pale malt. Trace of suppressed hops. Finishes crisp and dry. A fresh air beer but a fresh fresh air beer!

Tap @ Brewpub, Vienna. Day 1 RBESG 2012. Pours clear golden with a white foam. Fresh, malty and hoppy. Grass, hay and bread. A bit of sulphur. Another well brewed Helles in Vienna.

Das Helle ist neben dem Märzen das Hauptprodukt der Gasthaus-Brauerei neben der technischen Universität. Das Publikum setzt sich dementsprechend aus Einheimischen, Studenten und auch Touristen zusammen. Und alle erfreuen sich am Bier, das aufgrund seiner Süffigkeit an manche tschechische Hausbrauerei erinnert. Ein erfrischendes Bier, das man am besten im hauseigenen Biergarten trinkt.
