Wiener Lager, der Bierstil der im Wien des 19. Jahrhunderts kreiert wurde und der zugleich das erste Lagerbier der Welt war. Trotzdem verschwand dieser Bierstil wieder fast vollkommen. Mit schelmischer Freude hat der WOIF also dieses rötlich-kupferige Bier auf Basis des Wiener Malzes wiederbelebt. Und was wäre Wien ohne seine Einflüsse aus dieser Epoche? Genau, und so gesellten sich noch weitere Rohstoffe aus Gebieten der ehemaligen Habsburger Monarchie (Böhmisches Malz und Hopfen aus den steirischen/slowenischen Anbaugebieten) dazu.

Stark getreidiger, etwas muffig hefiger Beginn. Minimal hopfig, dumpf herb, erdig, leicht bitter zum Ende. 10/7/7/6//7

Bottle. Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, bready yeast. Taste is caramel, bready yeast, peach. Silky mouthfeel with fine-bubbled carbonation. Fun.

33cl bottle. A clear amber beer with a huge good lasting beige head. Aroma of caramelish malt, some nuts, reddish malt. Taste of dry caramelish malt, reddish malt, nuts, medium bitterness, good!

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma is grainy, mild fruity, caramelly and floral. Pours clear amber color with medium creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel and toasted malt, following is slightly medicinal, grassy, bready and dusty, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is light bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Not bad, just boring...
