Black Rye American Ipa brassata con l’uso di segale. Colore ebano e riflessi rubino con schiuma abbondante e persistente. Aroma complesso con note di cedro, uva spina e mora. L’ingresso morbido e rotondo introduce ad un finale amaro intenso, agrumato, balsamico e con note calde da malti tostati. Una birra che si beve ad occhi chiusi, perché la sua anima è come la musica: non occorre la vista per capire che è nera.

Il gusto al naso riconosce percezioni di liquirizia, orzo tostato, caffè e orzo. L’intensità olfattiva è normale e la persistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello è di schiuma compatta, cremosa, aderente, a bollicine fini e con finale di pizzo sui bordi del bicchiere. Il colore è scuro impenetrabile. Il corpo è strutturato ma duttile. L’amaro è medio. L’intensità gustativa è elevata e la persistenza gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono luppolate, di birra impegnativa. Il finale è amarognolo, lungo, pulito, dissetante e complesso. L’aroma in bocca ha i sentori di miele, caffè, resina, frutta secca e agrumi.

0,33l bottle at home bought at Astral Beers Bologna. BB 09/2016. almost black color, medium big coffee colored head. smells of licorice, grass, light berry notes, citric, earthy notes, lightly breadish, lychee. nice smell. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, licorice, caramel, light grapefruity, bit sweet herbal, lightly lactic, earthy notes, hints of resin. finishes with a light to medium earthy bitterness with notes of licorice, lemon and light bread. great stuff, did not like the taste at first, but it quite grew on my, very lovely creamy mouthfeel. great BIPA.

On cask at Maestro in Trieste. Pours a watery amber with some fluffy, white head. Nose is quite mild, malt, some light candy, some cream soda. Flavor has black tea, some citrus pith, malt, cracker. Watery finish. Maybe this would have been better on tap with some hard carb?
