Vanilla Zuidam Old Genever (5y On Oak) Milk Stout. Soft smooth Vanilla Milk Stout, Infused with Zuidam Old Genever aged 5 year on American oak. Before infusion we put the Madagascar vanilla beans for 2 months in the Old Genever. The taste is soft smooth with vanilla, toffee, oak and chocolate. We used for the Black and Yellow the same Stout with Lactose

330ml bottle at The Huppel, Den Haag. Poured almost black in colour with a thin, off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, light vanilla. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, earthy, chocolate, sweet lactose vanilla, liqourice bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with small to average, frothy, rapidly diminishing, beige head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and slightly floral-fruity aroma, notes of dark chocolate, prune, plum, plum wine, dark cherries, some vanilla. Taste is sweet, chocolately dark malty and floral fruity, notes of dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, notes of prune, plum, dark cherries, plum wine, a touch of lactose, vanilla, strawberry; well hidden alcohol. Oily texture, super-soft, smooth, minimally cloying palate, medium, minimally prickly, overall rather soft carbonation. Quite sweet-ish, but overall well balanced, nice fruitiness, not too much vanilla, could bear some more flesh on the bones - nice.

Deep dark color and a nice tan head. Nice coffee and vanilla, lactose and astrigend finish.

Base beer haal ik niet echt een milk stout uit, maar meer een quad of barley wine, vanille, koekjes, rozijnen.
