Pours deep brown garnet with a dark tan head which slowly disappears. Aroma is quite decadent with booze, vanilla, oak, buttercream, toffee & ofcourse bourbon. In taste the sweetness overpowers any bitterness that may try and get a look in. It's hard to guess the ABV. A dangerous but delicious lady! (Ratebeer.com: 99 overall & 98 style) Translates as Wind & Weather

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, Bourbon, oak, dried fruits, toffee, marzipan, candy sugar, raisins, butterscotch, syrup. Flavour is quite sweet and sugary sticky with a touch of booze. Body is above medium. Intensely sweet with a huge sweet caramel syrup toffee Bourbon aroma, a very nice slow sipping beer. A satisfying less heavy sequel to the original Weer & Wind.

Malty, fruity, vinous taste with oak wood, bourbon, vanilla, burnt sugar, caramel, toffee, dried fruit, prunes, raisins and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, tasty and warming. Very nice.

Sour, tart, vinous, acidic. Infected I'm afraid.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Glowing copper-gold with a small head. Certainly strong tasting with some caramels here too. Tastes a little like sorachi hops or coconut.

The bourbon barrel aged version of one of De Molen’s classic barleywines, thanks Johan for sharing. Egg-white, thin and open, loosely structured, bubbly head on a cloudy caramel brown beer with warm amber hue. Aroma of honey liqueur, caramel sauce, clear sweet bourbon, vanilla, wet wood, sugar loaf, peach ‘jenever’, figs in rum, raspberry coulis. Sweet onset with a sour apple or raspberry-like fruity tartness underneath, orange and peach impressions, softish carb, full and vinous mouthfeel; thick caramelly and honeyish malt sweet core with oxidized port-like elements and light oaky tannins at the back, followed by warming, brandy-like alcohol. Meanwhile that sourish undertone keeps persisting, resulting in an almost fresh orange flesh-like character in combination with the sweetness. Delicious, even if I wasn’t expecting this sour aspect of it, I wonder if it was intentional or not…
