On tap at GBBF 08. Clear amber, slight beige head. It’s alright, a bit caramelly. Good and tasty easy drinking lager. Little bit buttery. Clean though.

A copper colored beer with a thick orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and bread. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of bread and caramel, leading to a slightly bitter finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy light brown with a diminished off-white head. Grainy, slight hay and acidic aroma. Flavour is mild malty with a minimal note of sweetness as first and then it goes more acidic before the finish. There is a slight herbalness and liqourice note in the finish. Ends dry.

Bottle. Light amber coloured, smaller, slightly lacing, quite stable off-white head, sweet (dark-) malt and toasted malt in the nose, nutty and hoppy aromas are also detectable; robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium-bodied; stronger sweet-nutty-malty finish with an aromatic hoppiness in the very end. A very fine, well balanced Bier.......

Rerate from bottle. Can see the pretty amber color and rocky golden foam now. Franconia minerals and spice, mellow caramel, chewy medium full body. Good herbal and grassy hop balance. Sampled from a Stein at the Annafest (well ok chugged really). 7 3 7 3 13 Hint of smoke in the nose, herbal. Couldnt see much of it obviously, seemed to be dark golden but it had a beautifull creamy head. Light flavored and perfectly balanced. Very quenching.

Ceramic mug. Frothy head. The aroma is toasty with woody, slightly fruity hop. Full body. Toasty with a full caramel character. Woody dryness in the finish. This has really good balance. Copper colour. A very Franconian take on festbier. Incidentally, my experience is that GBBF ratings of Franconian beer are worthless. The beer is infinitely better in location, especially the Annafest beer.
