Hand-pulled half-pint at the Pheasant Inn, Wellington Shropshire on 28th July 2020. Almost black bodied, a very dark brown for sure; on top a full tanned coloured foam head. Not as nutty or sweet as I expected, mild maple syrup hints and very little Walnut to find. Still enjoyed it, just wasn't as exciting as the name suggests.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Deep chestnut brown. Fine tan head is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has a hint of maple. Nuts. Light roast coffee. Taste has a nice balance of sweet and nutty bitterness. Medium body. Foamy carbonation. Gets a bit dry. Lingering nutty bitterness to finish. Decent stout. Neither the maple or walnut promised are particularly noticeable, however.

Gravity cask at the Blue Boar as part of the 2020 Night and Day Festival. Extremely dark brown, bordering on black with a ring of tan head. Light aroma, bit I'm getting the bitter sheen on the walnut more than the heady sweetness of the maple. The taste however is laden with maple notes along with chocolate malt and Sweet hazelnut. Thick body, almost no carbonation. Decent but maybe I expected more do wondering the ABV...
