Herbal beer brewed in collaboration with the attending home and professional brewers of Grutkulturfestival International 2020 in Münster: La Source, Fermenthings, De Kromme, Haring, Nevel, Luti, Dønnekes, Elixer, Gruthaus, Von Seitz,David Bea. We elaborated the different herbs that everybody brought to the brew day and used them during the boil and in the coolship. Further we added organic bitter and blood oranges to the cooling beer. Fruit forward herbal beer, which is not for the faint of heart. This blend matured for 15 months in red wine barrels.

Hazy golden. Aroma is funky horse blanket gooseberries red currant wheat light cheese orange. Taste is fresh but not too sour with some light sweet malt and lots of hoppy bitterness. Light but not watery. Not at all heavy but so complex and fresh. Amazing.

Bottle. Milky pale amber, low off-white head. Funky light chalky nose, orange, spice, pudding nose. Medium body, sparkles, light minerals, fat fruitiness, citrus, blood orange peel, light milk acid. Super funky but well balanced and super drinkable. Good stuff.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is very tart blood orange, herbs, intense, some barrel. Taste is herbs, orange, wheat, refreshing and yet very complex, but not overwhelming, tart finish that makes you smack your lips. Sparkly carbonation. Hell yeah, this is incredible!

Aus der Flasche im 2022-01 getrunken. Diese goldene Bier hat eine deutliche aber sehr gut basierte Säure und schönen Fruchtaromen. Sicher ist es nicht sonderlich komplex, aber einfach nur lecker. Prost!

Bottle at Maakun’s, thanks! Unclear, dark golden by candlelight, white head. Lemony, citrusy fryitiness and sourness, very fine herb blend, oak. Light and lean, peppery and punchy. Very likeable and drinkable.

Bottle shared. Clear golden with small white head. Minty herbs, sage, well yeah all those kinds of herbs. Tea too. Crisp malts, lactic sourness obviously, grapefruit peel. Not much barrel. Good mix between herbal, fruity and malts. Medium sour, lighter sweet and a nice balancing lasting bitterness. Medium bodied. Yeah yeah nice!

Fruity and slightly sourish beginning. The oranges are there, fruity with woody wine in the back. Herbal grain, subtle sourness with a very fruity and mild finish. Deep sourish, fruity, with a mild herbal sour finish.

Fein säuerlicher Beginn. Intensiv kräutrig, spritzig, weich. Die Kräuternoten steigen an, harmonisch, weich. Langer kräutriger Mittelteil und Nachgeschmack. Gut! 10/11/12/11/9/11

Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Tart, fruity, vinuous notes. Taste: Moderate tart, light sweetness, very light bitterness (only some fruity bitterness). Fruity notes of blood oranges, herbal notes, some wormwood definitely but I don't recognize the other herbs. Smooth, lightly creamy mouthfeel. Some subtle wild yeast funk, red wine and oak wood notes. Medium body, below average carbonation. Dry mouthfeel at finish. Another lovely Kemker (collab) Gruit Ale for sure.
