Utopian dark lager is our interpretation of Bavarian Dunkel style. We brewed this lager with dark British malts & a traditional double decoction mash, teasing out a bouquet caramelised nuts and read crust. A slow low temperature fermentation and over four weeks of cold lagering results in a beer which pours a rich amber, with malt complexity and exceptional drinkablity . Nutty. ,rich, full bodied, unfiltered beautifully balanced.

440ml Can - Copper red in colour. Caramel, raisins and some hints of marzipan and cherries in the aroma. Moderately sweet taste with caramel, raisins, berries and some chocolatey and slightly roasted notes. Some faint metallic notes can be detected in the finish but not enough to detract from what is an enjoyable beer.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear copper with a tight, creamy off-white head. Moderately sweet with lovely toasted malt character, sun-kissed caramel, nutty notes, light leafy bitterness, a suggestion of chocolate. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, more toasted malts and biscuits, restrained caramel, light bitterness, dried fruits. Very tasty.

Taste is a little sweet and vinous. Some dryness. Lightly bitter. Smooth mouthfeel with fine, natural carbonation. Dry and vinous finish. Nice one.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Clear amber/brown body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth and dried leaves. Flavour of nuts, lightly toasted bread and caramel. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Earthy and flavoursome. Loved this.

Clear, dark amber beer with a good white head. Light smell of toasty malt. Flavour is bready with a little hop, toasty malt and a bit if nuttiness to it. It's like a cross between a nutty bitter and a crisp lager. Very drinkable.
