Indulgence in Extravagance. TraditionMaxlrainer HELLES is a classic Bavarian beer variety brewed from finest ingredients, exquisite, aromatic and fresh to the taste, golden-yellow in colour and topped with a superbly persistent head.
It goes without saying that this traditional beer is brewed in strict conformity with the Bavarian Purity Law. It ranks among the many MAXLRAIN beers that never fail to qualify for the DLG Gold Medal awarded each year.

Bottle: Pale golden, small and stable white head; mild grainy nose with a very shy herbal-hoppy background; mild to moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied and soft; short malty-herbal finish. Clean and well crafted, but a bit boring......

Bottle from the Dodgi Deli Cowley Road Nov 08, consumed later in the month. Pours very pale yellow with a large white frothy head. Feels soft in the mouth, some sweet sherbert and ice cream wafer taste come to mind. Really enjoyable. A7 A3 F7 P4 OV15

Tap at Bufet from gravity tank. Pale golden, white lace. Light spring onion grassy hops, medium light grainy base, a hint fruit, grassy, light herbal finish. 6 2 5 2 8 Sampled while it still was called Maxlrainer Lagerbier, they claim to have tweaked the recipe since then. Hayish malt and bitterhop aroma. Pale straw, not much carbonation, ok head. Thin hayish tastenotes, insufficient hops. Sub average Helles.
