Das „4710 Oak I“ ist – passend zur Wildsaison – ein kräftiges, aromatisches Bier, das bei der Reifung mit Holz der amerikanischen Weißeiche ausgebaut wurde. Der Geschmack überzeugt durch eine angenehm runde Barrique-Note und verführt mit dezenten Anklängen von Vanille- und Nussaromen zum nächsten Glas. Die Rohstoffe für das „4710 Oak I“ stammen zu 100 % aus biologischem Anbau.

Bottle, many thanks Manu! Slightly unclear golden color with small white head. Aroma is canned fruits, vanilla, honey. Taste is vanilla, straw, honey, sugar icing, moldy wood. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Not great.

Kalea-Bieradventkalender 23.12.2016 (Österreich-Edition): Kurz vor Weihnachten fand ich ein Fläschchen von diesem Spezialbier. Es ist ein stärkeres unfitriertes Helles in Richtung Bock, welcher bei der Reifung mit amerikanischer Weißeiche versetzt wurde und dadurch einen leichten Barriqueton. Dass das Bier mit 6,8 vol.-% stärker ist, merkt man nicht so schnell, da es relativ mild rüber kommt, hinzu kommt ein leicht süßlicher Ton. Auf dem Ettikett steht etwas von dezenten Anklängen von Vanille und Nuss; die Nuss kann ich bestätigen, die Vanille muss man schon genau suchen.

Amber, moderate hazy body, with a quite small, fluffy, a bit lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of honey, nuts, grains, grass, some sweet fruits, some sweet-spicy barrel notes.
Taste follows this, with subtle hoppy notes and a bit alcohol.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes a bit light, medium dry, wooden, a but spicy, a but hoppy, a bit sweet, slightly alcoholic.
Nice one. A quite typical Heller Bock base, with well integrated, smooth barrel notes. Works really well and drinks pretty smooth. Not the best style example I’ve had, but quite above average in my opinion.

330ml bottle at Vienna Food Festival. BB 19.05.2016. orange hazy color, small white head. smell grains, bread, tobacco, cardboard. Full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Tastes of marzipan, milk, grains, sweetness, honey, biscuits, some alcohol. Finishes with honey notes and alcohol. overall a bit weird experience, OKish, but nothing special. 5, 4, 6, 3, 11
