Fall under the charm of the mild sweet-sour character of this blend of young and old ‘Foederbier’ and young brown ale, with an alcohol content of 5.2%. Go back in time, and pause to reflect on what happened 12 months ago... For that is when this beer came into being.
This brown ale has a pleasant aroma of green apple, redcurrant, caramel, apple cider vinegar and currant bread. It is aged for 12 months in wooden barrels, which gives it its characteristic aromas. It has a lovely, rounded flavour with alternating dashes of sweet and sour.

Bottle from Hopduvel. Hazy dark brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of red apple, malt vinegar, cherry, cassis, ripe passion fruit, nectarine, brown sugar, marzipan, wet wood, musty cellar. Taste has sweet-sour red apple, nectarine, some brambleberry & cassis in a marzipan-like, sweetish brown-sugary malt body surrounded by soft funky notes of malt vinegar, sourdough and yoghurt. Tart cherry & berries in the finish, lingering brown sugar, funky vinegar and woody tannins. Medium body, moussy texture, average carbonation. Typical Oud Bruin, some sweet elements for sure but still in balance.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark red/brown, with fine, light brown foam. Aroma is fairly intense, of cherries, barrel ageing, funky with vinegar. Body and carbonation are average. Some nice astringency. Taste is pretty acetic, with some underlying sweetness. Final has some more nice tongue tickling from astringency.

Quite dark brown with thin head. Lots of sour fruity notes and a touch of cherry vinegar. Sweeter elements of malt and jammy ted fruits too. Sharper than a Duchesse but less extreme than a Verzet.
