Tym razem na warsztat wzięliśmy klasykę z niemieckim rodowodem - podwójnego koźlaka, warzonego z udziałem słodów wędzonych bukiem Steinbach Rauchmalz. 24 Blg, 8,5% alkoholu.

Can at home. Pours dark, almost black with a quickly dissipating beige head. Nose is intense smoke and sweet malts, also a hint of chocolate. Taste is rather sweet with hints of smoke: it's malty and really, sweet with no distinct or recongisable notes but surely tasty. The smoke is not in-your-face yet pretty distinct but it merges nicely into the base beer. Closes with a sweet malty and smoky finish, has a light to medium body, it's rich but surprisingly easy to drink. It's actually borderline too thin but the high level of drinkability makes up for it. Seeing the can I'm not sure why does lactose had to be in this, but hey. A nice beer all in all that's pretty much my cup of tea.

Canned (from funkyshop.pl). Ambery brown colour with a mediumsized off-white foamy head. Aroma is smoked, some toasted, herbal and mild wooden tones. Flavour is smoked, some toasted, mild herbal, grassy and some sweet malty tones. Very pleasant.

A dark brown beer, a head is medium and light beige. Aroma has smooth smokyness, richness of malts, light caramel. Taste has richness of malts, caramel, warm smoke, some tar. Medium+ bodied, smooth. Nice and balanced, lots of maltyness, smooth. Vey rgood beer.

ABV: 8.5%. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, smoke, malty, cake, smoked, light meat, light bread. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, meat, smoke, cake, sweet malt, dark malt, malty, rich, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20220411]

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Dark mahogany colour, small head. Generous aroam of tarry smoke and ham. Very sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Sugar and tar pastilles, treacle and ham. Mid bitter finish. Lots of nice smoke flavours, but too sweet.

500ml can. Opaque, mahogani colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Smoky, caramel malty aroma, notes of smoked ham, smoked eel, etc., a touch of wood ashes, whiffs of tar, peat. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, mildly smoky, notes of caramel, dark caramel, hints of smoked ham, smoked eel, etc., a touch of treacle, weak peaty overtones. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft, creamy carbonation. Superbly balanced, mild, homogeneous, harmonious - excellent!

lattina 50 cl, schiuma nocciola fine persistente, colore marrone/mogano limpido, al naso subito affumicato spek poi miele castagne legno, in bocca è piena miele su tutto poi pane tostato nocciole speck caldarroste, carbonazione leggera, oily, l’alcool si sente non disturba e riscalda, corpo rotondo, molto dolce bilanciato da un amaro moderato. Molto complessa ma ben equilibrata. Ottima c. Cantina della birra 02.10.21

50cl Blik, dank Harmen! Donkerbruine kleur, beige kraag. Forse rookgeur, behoorlijk zoet, dadels, vijgen, gebrande caramel, meer rook, leer, bitterzoete finish. Volle body. Komt in de buurt van Schlenkerla, kruising tussen de Eiche (het zoete) en de Urbock (rook). Het was niet een bier waar ik veel trek in had, wellicht dat het op een ander moment een stuk hoger had gescoord. Absoluut goed gemaakt nl.

Black color with medium tan color. Aroma: smoke, burnt caramel, chocolate. Taste: starts with sweet notes, burnt caramel and than smoked bacon develops on the background. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, low bitterness. This is really good.
