Malty and fruity aroma with a satisfying flavour and bitter finish, Cambridge Bitter is the main brand beer at an ABV of 3.8%.
A mild brown bitter with a good balance of malt and hop character give a pleasing session drink. The finest pale ale malt (made from Maris Otter barley) is blended with torrified wheat, invert sugar and a small amount of roast barley, to ensure consistent colour.
Hops used are English Fuggles and challenger, a blend that gives a full hop character to the beer.

Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, nuts, and a bit of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes metal, caramel, alcohol, and nuts, leading to a dry metallic finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours an almost clear amber with a small and rough off-white head. The nose has some caramel and nuts with an oxidized touch. Light body, again caramel and nuts with a decent hoppiness. 200111

Cask at the Basketmakers’ Arms, Brighton, East Sussex, England on 23rd May 2009. A very pleasant session bitter, amber in colour with a head lasting at least three-quarters down the glass with some lacing. Malt and hop intermingle without domination by either to produce a bitter-sweet balance on a fairly smooth mouthfeel. Not an ale to go mad about, but if available on a warm summer evening give it a go - it’s a quencher.

Cask @ Bon Accord. Amber colour, off-white head. Faint aroma of caramel malts, not much else. Flavour has some caramel malts. Watery. Not much going on in this beer.

Bottle picked up in Asda, Peterborough, Cambs’ 22-01-09. Pours gold with a white head. This is really quite refreshing with a good bitterness. Soft in the mouth but there is a good tanginess, decent sweet malt, its simple and tasty. A5 A4 F7 P3 OV13 3.2
