When we visited Bamberg in 2018 – the primary lager destination of the world – we had the opportunity to visit Brauerei Zehendner, a family owned brewery that has focused on lagers all the way back to 1808. They had two tasting options in their beer garden, their export on tap and a lovely beer on cask. The latter was simply called Lagerbier. It was a divine experience to taste the Lagerbier and we promised ourselves to one day make our own version of it. Hedemora Lager is our interpretation of Brauerei Zehendner’s Lagerbier – a traditional German lager. The beer has a golden color, a medium malt aroma and has slightly herby notes in the mouth. We have the beer in yeast tanks for many weeks to get a pure and crisp beer. Hedemora Lager is part of our Oppigårds’ Heritage Collection. Oppigårds’ Heritage Collection is a series of classic beers where we go back to the roots and brew beer of a typical character. With Oppigårds’ Heritage Collection, we want to manage a beer cultural heritage, in a Hedemora way.
