Bottle at home, from HOTM online, 23/11/21. Black with a fast collapsing tan head that dissipates to the edge. Nose is dark malts, light smokey whisper, coffee bean, dark chocolate, spice, toffee. Taste comprises indulgent chocolate, cognac whisper, brown sugar melt, molasses, light spice, kiss of alcohol, dried fruit rinds, coffee bean. Full bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid old skool leaning BA impy ... sips mighty fine and comes in below the stated ABV.

9-4-8-4-16 Bottle, #45201, bottle 0233/7.500, six months after bottling. Pours pitch black, with a creamy, mocha head. Aroma is dark roasted malts with molasses, vanilla, chocolate and liquorice, as well as notes of cognac and wooden barrels. Creamy body, with soft to average carbonation. Flavour is dark roasted malts, with coconut, vanilla, liquorice and muscovado, as well as aquavit, kandi and wooden barrels.

Bottle. Deep, dark brown, almost black body under a small beige head. Strong aroma of dark, roasted malt, dry fruit, coffee, wood and smooth aquavit. Taste is sweet, but the alcohol and bitterness make some kind of balance, smooth, dark roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, wood, dry fruit, demerara sugar and smooth, waming alcohol with aquavit. Full bodied and everlasting aftertaste. Very nice and smooth, surprisingly and dangerous well-hidden alcohol. Most people seems to identify cognac flavors, but I find the aquavit totally dominating the alcohol part of this wonderful beer.

Flaske 4300/7.500. Drukket på Lillehøgda. Svart. Høyt luftig lysebrunt skum som blir film. Aroma av røstet malt, sjokolade & eik. Lovende. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken utrolig innholdsrik. Søt sjokolade. Kaffe. Torv. You name it. Tørket frukt i avslutninga. Ettersmaken varer lenge. Her dukker det opp mere kaffe. Alkoholen farlig godt kamuflert. Toppøl! Blir et av mine beste!! Eneste å trekke: Ble i søtligste laget. Men bevares.

330ml, bottle 4302/7500, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Bubbly, tan-coloured head, dissipating over a pitch black body, scattered lacing. Promising black chocolate aromas, dry, mid-sweet, and nicely roasted. Well blended taste profile of vanilla chocolate, dried fruits with a touch of aquavit, and molasses beneath, woody. Warming, smoothly roasted ending, long-lived. Full bodied. Excellent slow sipper on a Saturday afternoon. (Tromsø 11.09.2021).

Fairly light body, sweet, boozy. The aquavit herbals are pretty distinct, maybe some cognac too, some malty chocolate and breadiness. Tastes better than that sounds, pretty balanced and tasty. Very nice.
