Bottled 500ml ABV 5.1% (BZ, BB 08/2011)
Dark nut brown color, small steady off-white head. Dry nutty malty aroma, some caramel, maybe even a bit cardboardish. Medium-bodied. Dry, nutty malty flavor with hoppy bitterness in the finish. Bitter aftertaste. Just "OK".

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear deep brown colour, mid-sized off-white head. Earthy, flavours of caramel, chocolate, raisins. Quite hoppy for a Dunkel, resiny-grassy and, again, earthy. A very interesting and good beer.

Very carbonated. Give a thick head. Dark chestnut colour. Aroma is minerally, with light toffeeish, breadcrusty notes. The minerals tend to dominate the palate with the dark sugary character in the background. A bit out of balance.

(bottle) Hazy, murky chestnut colour with a short but stable off-white foamy head. Sweet, slightly toasted, malt-accented aroma with notes of barnyard and shy spicy, herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Dry, malt-accented taste, moderately toasted. Almost bone-dry, moderately bitter finish with balanced toast-malty and hoppy notes. Likeable Franconian Dunkel.

Bottle: Hazy, dark amber coloured with a fluffy off-white head; distinctive sweet-malty, slightly toasted nose; dryish, slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; only a bit sweetish, mainly chocolatey and hop-bitter finish. Very well crafted franconian brew.....
