5 oz draft at YRL. Aroma of mild rye grain and soft caramel. Flavor falls with a very mild hint of smoke and ash. Very weak maple. Extremely flavorful for the style. i’m going to venture to say this is my highest rated smoke beer ever. Since I’m personally not a fan of smoke malt.

Dark brown pour from can with reddish edges. Caramel, malts smoke. Sweet finish. Really enjoyable fall beer

Tap at The Owl Farm. Deeper copper pour with an off-white head. Somewhat smoky and quite malty, sweet, with a touch of maple that further enhances the sweetness, but without overdoing it. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Tasty.

Canned 1/31/22, drunk 3/16/22. Clear, ruby-to-ruddy-hazelnut with a small, but solid, dark beige head. Softly smokey nose is accented with honey, hints of toffee and strong minerality. Touches of fruity, cherry-like notes add complexity and there's a strong malt finish alongside pepper, herb and more soft smoke. Raisin, caramel and fig leading to lighter biscuit, peppery smoke and tons of minerals along the way. No alcohol or flaw. Malty and drinkable with a good dose of heft, but still preserving a crisp, lager-like drinkability that never shows syrup, chewiness or excessive sweetness. Smokiness is so well-balanced, even if I can never get enough smoke. Hints of butter toffee, toast and mineral linger on enjoyably with no alcohol or flaw.

Some smoke and a little citrus. Amber hazy pour with decent head. Smoke and some nut, coffee in there. Pretty good light smoked beer. Can I think I got from an advent calendar.

Can at home. Dark ruby pour. Nose is some smoke and dried fruit. Tastes of ash tray, toffee, barely there maple, wood, little bacon, dried apricot and fig. Smoke is present and more so on finish. Lighter bodied.

Can - pours a turbid dark amber with a thick, well-sustained head - really soft carbonation in the mouth (almost feels cask-conditioned) - moderately sweet, rich malt character - not quite as smoky as you'd expect from the german examples, but still pretty rich on the smokiness - maple is subtle but present - dries out and gets mildly bitter on the tail end - smoke intensifies in the finish - balanced, nuanced, and tasty.
