Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is heavy on the laurel, liquorice, anise, light roasted malt, caramel, mint, and salty liquorice. Flavour is sweet with a mild roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Not completely undrinkable but way overboard on the liquorice and herbs, this is the side of De Molen I can do without.

Opaque dark brown - black beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth mellow dark malts, a little dark malt creamy sweetness. Smooth licorice and aniseed. Little root beer as well. Smooth finish. Light crispy finish. A very root beer Schwartz. Amusing.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is liquorice, After eight, light roast, chocolate. Taste is the same, quite herbal, but not overdone. Not too sweet, rather dry finish with a medium carbonation. Basically light after eight in a glass. Well done for what it is.
