Brown with red accents. A touch of dark fruit and molasses accompany some pretty rich chocolate flavors. Sweet after taste with a trace of hops.

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, 11th February 2012 consumed at home 19th February 2012 Pours dark brown with a creamy off white head. This is just a little smokey on the nose but there is a good solid maltiness and pleasant dark sweet fruitiness, I don’t detect smokey flavours it’s just noticeable on the nose. very nice indeed. 2011-02-25, bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt, 7-5-7-3-14=36
Dark mahogany color; medium-sized creamy head. The aroma is mild, with nice notes of roasted nuts, and traces of cereals. Good body strength; strong caramel flavor with some roasted nuts; moderate residual sweetness; there is a vein of liquorice that is somehow disturbing. Correct bitterness in the final; but a bit of alcohol too can be perceived. Solid, but I was more impressed the first time I had it.

Dark amber, brown color; medium-sized creamy head. The aroma is mild but very interesting, with caramel, delicate roasted nuts, bread. The body strength is average, there are just few residual sugars, but there is a very good flavor of caramel, roasted nuts and raw cereals, with dry and biscuity tones; the final shows more roasted nuts, with a correct bitterness. Very interesting. Give it enough time to breathe.
