Rustbucket, our trademark Rye Ale, now has a big brother, Black Bucket. This Black Rye IPA balances rye and roasted malts with fresh hop aromas and flavours. At 6.5% ABV Blackie is a little bigger in strength than his lighter sibling but we think he is every bit as drinkable.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with fruity hops, citrus, some grapefruit, notes of dark chocolate, spicy rye, and coffee, light pine. Flavour is moderate sweet with a roasty and hoppy bitter finish. Body is medium. Solid Black IPA.

On tap at Beer Temple. Near black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate, liquorice, toasted bread, citrus, and grasses. The taste is bitter roasted. Medium body. Drying, roasted finish. Nice BIPA.

Pretty solid beer. Very good for Europe in style, but avg for usa’s lineup. Mikkeller ams. Tried again. I like it more. More crisp and dry

On tap at Het Lagerhuys, pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, earthy hops, and a little pine. Flavour is balanced, with lots of medium roast, earthy hops, and a little pine. Pretty soft for a black IPA, but has enough roast and hops to be pleasing. Very good.
