This is a chewy oatmeal porter with a plethora of biscuit, crystal and roasted grains. Luscious milk chocolate flavour and texture with a dark fruit and coffee hit. Deliciousness in simplicity!

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with a small tan head and good lacing. Oats to the fore in the aroma, alongside roasted malts and some hints of dark fruits. In the mouth it is sweet, but with some underlying bitterness. Flavour has dark fruits and chocolate with coffee and hints of cola coming through later. Finish is slightly more bitter. This is decent – plenty of bite to it.

250 ml tap. Murky darkest brown with a beige coloured creamy head. Oats, cocoa, chocolate, fudge, lemon, licorice. Dry roasty bitterness, some chocolate sweetness. Medium bodied, creamy chewy texture, soft carbonated, dry malty chocolate zesty finish. Superb mouthfeel, nice drinking Porter.

Tap @ Patricks. Pitch black body under a medium sized, lacing tan head. Nice aroma of medium roasted dark malt, coffee and, dark chocolate. Taste is medium roasted dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits and balanced bitterness. Fine body and smooth, nice aftertaste. All over a really nice, tasty, no nonsense classic porter. No adjuncts, no lactose just a plain, well made super smooth, tasty beer. I’m happy with that.

Draught, from a sample tray at Taphouse. Lacing rings from a covering off-white head, almost coal black in the glass. Moderately roasted malts on the nose, hints of earthy malts, mid-sweet. Blended taste profile of dark malts and dark fruits, joined by a coffee bite to a roasted finish. Pretty decent. (Copenhagen, 03.05.2023).
