That's interesting. Like 70% sour ale and 30% stout. Fairly sour and a bit dry, boozy and fruity. Some dark berries? Not a fan of sour stouts but this is ok.

Bottle from one of the Crooked Stave locations: pours mahogany with a light beige head. Aroma is bourbon, wood, funkiness, malt, and lemon. Taste is moderately sour, lemonish, definitely. Not overly complex.

Bottle, thanks to mansquito. Pours dark brown. Funk, bourbon, vanilla, lemon juice, cherry, biscuit, really sharp lemon, cranberry. Medium body. Good, if a little odd.

8-3-7-5-15 Bottle, as Crooked Stave Adambier. Pours hazy mahogany, with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is acetic notes, with red wine vinegar, wooden barrels and leather, as well as cherries, dark fruits, grapes and tannins. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is very sour acetic notes with balsamic vinegar, grapes, cherries and tart berry notes, as well as raisins, dark fruits, tannins and wooden barrels. Astringent finish. Not really balanced at all, but still still it works, somehow, and turns into a very good beer.

Bottle at The Inverurie Bottle share. It pours dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma is tangy, brown bread, malt loaf, vinous, oak, granny smith, sherbert, birscher museli and earth. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, tangy, vinous, baslamico, sherbet, brown bread, puckering, kick of acidity, red wine vinegar, brown bread, oak and bourbon with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fun stuff.

375 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 9.2%. Against the Grain is not mentioned on the label. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Small beige head. Sourish aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, lactic acid, red wine vinegar and oak, hints of bourbon and vanilla. Very sour flavour (too sour?) with distinct notes of red wine vinegar and lactic acid.

Bottle. A- Oak, cherry, funk, Brett, stewed plums, tart. A- Dark mahogany color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Vinous, oak, cherry, funk, tart, slightly acidic, mild vanilla,. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- Sitting here in a State of Emergency due to my town being under water due to an inland Category 2 hurricane and hoping like hell my house doesn't flood out at least I picked a good beer in case my collection is destroyed. Not sure what an adambier should taste like style wise, but I was thinking something like a lichtenhainer. Either way it was exceptional to drink. Reminded me very much of a combo of Russian River Supplication or Consecration. Beautiful brew that I honestly feel I underrated. I do wish I would've gotten some smoke in there but there was none detectable.
