A beer that brings the flavour. Gage Roads Side Track is an XPA boasting fresh aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and pine that are brought together with a light malt base and crisp bitterness. All that in a 3.5% mid-strength that delivers maximum refreshment.

XPAs are a style that are becoming increasingly popular across Australia, with many interpretations. Gage Roads Side Track All Day XPA take on the style is extra pale in colour, with a light body and a refreshing finish. It’s a great platform to showcase the full flavour and aromas of Cascade, Citra and Azacca hops.

Mid-strengths can be a challenge for brewers. Alcohol brings flavour, so there’s a balancing act between boosting flavour through hops and malt, while maintaining balance. Side Track rides that wave perfectly, as a refreshing, balanced and full-flavoured mid.

“I’m really excited about the depth of flavour we’ve been able to achieve with Side Track. It has such a pronounced, fresh aroma and we’ve been able to tread that fine line of balance. You wouldn’t know it was a mid-strength unless you looked at the can.” – Ross Brown, Gage

330ml can from Monster and Beer, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a short-lived, fizzy white head. The aroma is malt, light citrus fruits. The flavour is light bitter sweet, with a fresh, light, watery, crisp, light citrus, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. For a short while after the can was opened, there was a little carbonation, but minutes later that was gone and it was like drinking flavoured water. Not good at all.
