25 June 2021. Oud Beersel Tasting @ Vroonstallepark. Cheers to the Ghent Beer Society crew! Clear orange, small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of unripe orange, mandarin zest, 'tea perfume', (elder)flower. Taste has sweet-sour orange & plum; flowery & wheaty accents. Tart finish, stonefruit end & orange, some bitter fruity hops & drying tannins. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation.

Clear deep orange beer, no head. Aroma: very floral, sweet ripe stone fruits, very perfumey. MF: soft carbon or at least something prickling, medium body. Taste: very fruity, very bitter, a bit resinous, dry, soapy, very very soapy, rather unpleasant. Aftertaste: resinous, more soapy bitterness, dry, very wry, unpleasant bitterness, don’t like it...

Bag in box. Unclear golden body under a big white head (the beer seems to have built up some extra carbonation during storing so the first glasses where really well carbonated, but then it seems to be more normal with almost flat glasses). Aroma is fruity, medium funky and with cellar notes. Taste is super refreshing, oranges and citric fruit, funky cellar notes, lemon, quite zesty with an unusably grassy bitterness and hint of wet wood. Nice and perhaps a bit more complex and less fruity (but definitively more bitter) than some of these BIG lambics I have tried previously. I like it a lot.

BagInBox, 310cl. It's a more or less headless flat beer, lightly hazy and orange in color. The aroma has a light malty touch, some pleasant leathery, barnyardish funk, lemon and hints of orange zest. It's medium to full-bodied, very lightly carbonated and rather tart on the palate, with a pleasant funky flavor of leather, barnyard and lemon. Some orange zest and a touch of grass, as well as some pale mash, wheat and a very light touch of yoghurt. Lasting funky and citrus-fruity finish. Quite delicious this one, tart and refreshing. 210305
