440ml can. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, liquorice, light chocolate. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter, with a somewhat light, roasty, earthy, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Didn’t really get much chocolate in the taste, but there was some evidence in the aroma. Somewhat disappointing given the name of the beer.

440ml can from Lidl. Pours a very dark brown/near black, moderate sized beige head. Aroma is chocolate malts, light roast, some fruitiness. Taste is very much chocolate. Natural flavourings were used so not just malts. Quite a light body. Its a bit 'meh' but nice enough.

Black with lasting head. Next to the maltiness there's a genuine hint of chocolate too. Not too sweet. In fact there's a roasted, bitter finish to this one.

(Can) Pours black with good tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate with notes of roast grain. Medium bodied and smooth with nice carbonation. Lots of chocolate throughout the palate with some modest sweetness up front and some good bitterness in the finish which provides a great balance. Really very enjoyable.

Keg at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of dark chocolate, cake and biscuit. Taste is more of the same. Dry finish.

440ml can from a Lidl: BB 9th July 2022. Drank at home on 26th November 2021. Beige head on the black body, it's a tad thin body wise for Chocolate Stout, the aroma and taste are also 'thin', but it's only 4.5% ABV and it didn't cost a great deal. OK, it's decent for the price I suppose, just a poor choice by me as my final beer and nightcap yesterday.

Can from Lidl Supermarket, Todmorden. Black, with a small off-white head and a smoothness. Its roasted malts are good and there's certainly chocolate to be found in its aroma, but perhaps it lacks a little kick, maybe a greater strength brew of this might be better.

440ml can. Pours jet black with a large head. Aroma is beefy roast, cola and a little chocolate. Taste has milk chocolate and beefy roast to start. More milk chocolate on the finish.
