A sour ale inspired by ancient Egypt. Beavertown drew inspiration from natural winemaking to produce an amphora and barrel aged beer. For a fruit addition they used Pinot Noir grape must from Forty Hall vineyards in North London. The beer was then fermented with a sour mix featuring a range of wild yeasts and bacteria, before being aged on pinot noir grape skins for eight months.

Bottle at home from the Siren Box, in garden in the sun on a Monday, 5th August 19. Pours a copper red colour. Aroma is grapes, grape skin, tart fruit, light must and some funk. Taste is super tart, vineous, acidic, then musty old grapes, grape skin, funk and a musty grape finish. Great and achieves the ambition in the description

22nd Oct 2018, Shrewsbury Beer Sharing Group meeting. 375cl bottle. Misty amber pour, wispy white head. Citrus notes, semi-sour wine hints and old, soggy wood in both the aroma and taste. Another Rainbow Project beer I struggled to enjoy.

375ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie. Hazed amber, small off-white topping. Aroma has some distant pleasantly fruity red wine, some wild elements. Taste has good wild yeast, complex fruity notes, wild berries, floral, bittersweet. Not bad.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Tipple. Pours clear gold with a small, foamy topping. Good and acetic, some tangy citrus, aged wood, orange, alcohol, pine needles, vinegar. Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Warming finish, a little acidic bite, more tangy citrus fruits. Not bad.

Tap at MBCT 2018 into a taster showing amber with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows hints of light stone fruit. Much too faint The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with light malt flavor and not much else.
