(On tap @ MBCC 2017 Yellow Session, Copenhagen) Pours reddish purple without any head. Notes are a strange mashup of tart berry wine and fresh coffee beans, as you might expect. Somewhat vinous, with lots of blackberry, raspberry and currants, a bit tannic, light honey sweetness, coffee is a bit heavy on green pepper and is indeed generally 'green' overall, not my favourite coffee character. Moderately sweet and jammy, lightly tart, and lightly to moderately bitter from the coffee roast component, with a bit of astringency in the finish. Medium full oily to syrupy body, still. Not my favourite from them, the coffee didn't mesh so well here and the base mead is a chunk better.

Draught @ MBCC. Pours deep red, no head, oily lacings. Aroma is sweet, honey, berries, coffee, coffee beans, alcohol. Flavor is sweet, rich honey, coffee and coffee beans, berries, blackberries, some alcohol. Medium body, flat carbonation, sweet finish. Clashes abit between the coffee and the sweetness for me. 120517

Mooch tasting at Matt's, corked
Dark blood color. Strange aroma, deep berry syrup and an earthy touch. Very sweet, full bodied, elderberry syrup and elderberry wine, red peppers, some ancho; the final astringency is particularly pleasant to add layers of complexity.
Hardly a Mead, but it's a competently brewed product.

Dark purple. The aroma is full of coffee and marionberries...maybe honey? On the palate, you get the berry first, which brings fruit, tart, and then the coffee jumps in there. The base mead is kind of buried. So the coffee lends an interesting dynamic to the finish, though I’m not sure I wouldn’t just like the berry version more. Rich and intense, and the fruitiness and tartness in the finish is pretty good. Would like more mead/honey character.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny head. Nose is huge, with light green pepper, some coffee, dark fruits, and treacle. Flavour is moderately sweet, with treacle, a hint of coffee, dark fruits and a hint of green pepper. Syrupy, but tastefully done. Not a whole lot of coffee. Lovely stuff.
