Bottle. Jet black, oily, sticky mocha head, with some long legs on the side of the glass. Aroma is sweet vanilla, and bourbon, with some big charred roasty malts. sticky mouth feel, soft carb. Semi sweet finish, some soy, and dark fruity malts. A touch smoky, with a little ash, and some tobacco.

0.655l bottle many thanks to Lore. Jet black body with a brown head. Aroma and taste of caramel, vanilla, honey, bourbon, roasted malts, nutmeg and some burnt sugar. Wow! Great one.

deep dark brown, almost black colour, moderate sized creamy brown head; aroma of dark chocolate, honeycomb toffee, coffee, some prune, liquorice, slight dried sour cherry and leather notes; taste is the same; I like it very much

Bottle [appears to be the same as "regular" Grand Cru gold wax] shared by Joes @ tasting. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized darker brown head. Aroma is malts, liquor though quite faint. Perhaps too old in the end then? In the flavor it's similar: malts, some dark malts, light liquor influences, less than I expected. Solid still but not as good as it once was probably.

Rocky tan head stayed on rich mahogany coloured still body. Chocolate, liquorice & bourbon aroma. Full bodied, soft, smooth & silky with a lighter clean back. Chocolate, berries, liquorice, dates & boozy tastes with light honey finish. Excellent

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from GBBF a few years back. Pours black-brown with a dense, cascading beige foam head. Dry ashy roast aroma, nips of oxidation, chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with assertive roasted malt character, bittersweet dark chocolate, some ash, raisins, dried cherry, burnt caramel. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish with notes of burnt sugars, more sturdy roast, bittersweet baking cocoa, leathery dark fruits, raisins, scorched earth. Good, toothy old-school BA impy stout.

Bottle. Pours inky black, medium tan head, great residual and lacing. Aroma is well integrated, nose, bourbon, cocoa, roast malt. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, hints of vanilla. Full body, soft mouthfeel. Quite nice.
