Picture In Reverse is our 13.2% bourbon barrel aged Old Ale. We brewed this beer with a simple malt bill of almost entirely British Golden Promise then boiled it down for three hours to reduce and concentrate the wort. After fermentation with our house ale yeast we aged this beer for over a year in bourbon barrels to develop its dark color and maltiness with notes of caramel, vanilla and dark fruit.

500 ml (2022) bottle from Kane, 7/10/23. Rich, dark brown in color with a thin light brown head. Aroma is strongly bourbon / whiskey, with some dark fruit, burnt bread, and dark chocolate. Rich and boozy. Thick and slick. Pretty interesting stuff overall. Strong. Complex.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black. Bourbon, toast, chocolate, red wine, cherry, sweet malty biscuit. Good oily body. Very nice.

Dark brown colour. I don't know why this is called Old Ale, it has little of the profile; it's somewhere between Imperial Stout and Strong Ale, it's boozy, strong, sweet, with some roasted nuts, and then more alcohol in the finish.
Funny, drinkable, not elegant of course.

500ml at Sales Force. Appearance: brown with a tan head. Aroma: oxidized (oh, well, Old Ale, right?), bourbon barrels. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: good one.

Medium brown, no head. Lots of bourbon and some sweet toastiness. Quite oxidized. Good old ale character, and this is a bit sweet, with a whack of alcohol, wood, slight chewiness.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige. Aroma brings out heaps of bourbon upfront, with a hint of vanilla, and even subtler dark fruits. Flavour is intensely bourbon-dominant, with lots of booze, vanilla, and intense bourbon. Rather harsh, but the bourbon is really nice. Good stuff.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, vanilla, oak, alcohol and chocolate. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, vanilla, oak, caramel and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, barrel - bourbon - vanilla - chocolate.
