500ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small to average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish and roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, some malt spiciness, hints of cola, a touch of treacle and dark fruit, plum or the like. Taste is roasty dark malty with bitter hoppy overtones, minimally chalky, hints of mineral bitterness, very cautious hints of plum; finally quite monotonous and one-dimensional, minimally watery.

Black, frothy tan head that dissipates, some lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, some burnt notes, slightly smoky
Taste of roasted malts, bitter roast, bitter earthy hops, some savoury yeast, roast black coffee, bit ashy
Palate - soft carb, medium body, fairly bitter, bitter earthy hops. Finish - bit dry, lingering burnt roast
Overall - Over roasty for me, think this would be better on cask
