An autumnal favourite, Red Fox is tawny red in colour and bursting with delicious malty flavours. Brewed with toasted oats which lends distinctive biscuit notes and a mellow aftertaste.

Cask at the Bishop on the Bridge, Winchester. Brilliant copper in colour with a thin translucent head; the taste is gently fruity, with underlying soft caramel; and then some spicy warmth to the biscuity finish. A rather plain and ordinary attempt at an autumn ale.

[Cask at General Havelock, High Wycombe] Amber-red with a moderate, lasting white head and a slight fizz. Caramel and toffee dominate, with a little stewed apple and some digestive biscuit. The earthy bitterness in the finish wasn’t quite enough to balance, leaving it rather sweet for me. Not one of Fullers’ better efforts.

Bottle (bought from the Fullers shop at the brewery, old rating). Deep copper colour with a beige small foamy and bubbly head. Aroma is fruity, mild earthy and floral notes as well as some nice maltyness. Flavour is crisp sweet and bready maltyness along with some fruity and floral notes. Also mild berries and spices in the finish.

Deep amber color, decent creamy beige head. Nose is hoppy with nuts, wood and flowers. Soft palate. Nutty hoppy, woody, slightly acidic flavor. Quite plain cask ale from Fullers.
