Bottle at Hopa. Deep golden, white head. Nose is big banana, fruity-flowery yeasty touch, malty kick. So is the taste with a long, sweet finish. Perhaps a tad too light body, but nice nevertheless.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet ripe banana, bready wheat, spicy yeast, pear, and touch of ripe stone fruits. Flavour is rather sweet with a mild bitterness. Body is medium. Sweet with ripe fruits, lots of banana.

Notes from January 2011 $5.49 from Whole Foods. Saw lots of quasi-fresh Germans brews stocked & figured I should buy some or risk buying the exact same bottle a few months from now, ala New Beer. Weiss glass. Murky honey gold color. Off white head, frozen solid. A good shake, anything less then a 75 degree tip won't make it move. Smells of bitter greens, dense/crusty loaf, pungent anise, rind, & bubblegum. Big banana & thick, starchy wheat. Heavy clove & brown sugar. Touch tannic. Bit of bubblegum & Honey Nut Cheerios. Lingering anise/yeast on the finish. Orange rind in there somewhere. Boozy. Flavorful, but heavy-handed. Decently carbed, but still a heavy, heavy beer. Alcohol hides behind all that residual sugar. I feel every percentage point of that ABV. Warming. Drinking a 500ml & still wanting a touch more, I feel is deserving, if not respectful. My stamina took a hit though. Price is okay if I figure I can get this for $4.50 from New Beer. Deserves more attention.
